I have a food allergy, can you accommodate my order? SteffyCakes does not operate in an allergen-free kitchen. Eggs, nuts, wheat, berries, gluten and dairy may come into contact with your order. All orders are made in a home-based kitchen and we are not inspected by the Department of State Health Services or local health department. We are licensed food handlers as required by state law.
How far in advance should I book my order? Weekends are booking approximately 2-3 months in advance. You are encouraged to book your order as soon as you secure a date for your event.
What is your minimum order? We currently have a $75 minimum for all orders.
Do you offer cake tastings or samples? I'm sorry, we do not offer cake tastings or free samples at this time.
Do you do consultations in-person or by phone? We do not offer this service at this time. All consultations are done online,
Is there a deposit or retainer? A 50% non-refundable retainer is required. Placing this retainer guarantees we will be available to make your cake on your selected date. Your retainer will be applied toward the final purchase price of your cake.
Due to the small size of our cake shop, we are limited to the number of orders we can create per week. If you know the date of your event but do not know what you want to order, a $75 retainer is required to secure your spot.
What forms of payment do you accept? We accept credit/debit cards, as well as, CashApp, Venmo & Paypal.
I get paid in two weeks. Can you send me an invoice right now? Invoices are only active for 24 hours OR until the date is booked by another customer. Please only request an invoice when you are ready to pay. Unpaid invoices will be canceled after 24 hours and will not be resent.
When is my balance due? All payments MUST be made according to the payment schedule. All final payments are due 7 days before your event (30 days for orders over $400). If the balance remains unpaid by the due date, a $15 late fee will be assessed and/or your order may be canceled. Please communicate any issues that may arise.
What is your refund & cancelation policy? ALL PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. While we are happy to apply your payment to store credit for a future date (subject to availability), we do not provide refunds. From the moment you place your order, we immediately begin making investments to ensure your cake will be completed on-time and to your specifications, some of which include: Turning down other potential orders, properly planning the execution of your cake design, and purchasing necessary tools and supplies. If your entire order is not paid by the due date, your order will be canceled due to non-payment.
Do you deliver? The convenience of delivery can be added to any order at the time your order is placed. There is a $20 minimum delivery fee. All delivery fees are calculated based on the size of the order, the day of the week, location, delivery time & traffic. In most instances delivery can be added same day. We deliver in San Antonio, Texas & all surrounding locations.
Where & what time do I pick-up my order? SteffyCakes is located on the North East side of San Antonio, Texas. The pick-up address will be provided at the time your order is placed (zip code 78239). SteffyCakes is NOT a full-time cake shop & all pick-ups are scheduled by appointment only. Please notify us of your preferred pick-up time at least 1 week prior to your event date. Please arrive no later than 15 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time. We schedule other deliveries around your appointment time so please notify us if you are running late for any reason. If you are unable to pick-up your order at the agreed upon time, your pick-up time may be defaulted to SteffyCakes availability on that particular day after deliveries have been competed.
My cake was damaged by my friend after you delivered it. Can I get a discount? Please notify SteffyCakes at the time of delivery/drop-off of any issues or concerns with your order. Once your cake is delivered or picked-up & inspected by you or the person accepting your order, SteffyCakes cannot be liable for any damage to your order thereafter. There is no compensation for cakes, cookies or cupcakes that have been consumed.
I'm nervous! What are some tips & tricks for transporting my order? If you are transporting your cake, please prepare your vehicle so it is clean and free of items that could roll or slide into you order. Do not place your cake on unlevel or heated seats. We do everything in our power to provide a well-structured cake and securely packaged treats but please note these items are very fragile and break easily. Drive carefully, slowly, do not brake suddenly or speed over speed bumps. Delivery is always recommended for cakes with 3 or more tiers. Cakes will melt if exposed to direct sunlight or heat. Do not display your cake in direct sunlight or hot temperatures, especially during the summer months.
